Product Description
Pennzoil high mileage vehicle synthetic 10W-30 motor oil is a multigrade common weight (viscosity grade) oil for use in gasoline engines in a variety of SUVs, light vans and trucks, and passenger cars with more than 75,000 miles. The synthetic formula helps prevent sludge build-up, provides overall lubrication and wear protection, and increases gas mileage in comparison to conventional oils. 10W-30 weight is designed for both winter and summer temperatures and is distributed throughout the engine to ensure proper lubrication for the moving parts. Synthetic oils provide thermal and oxidation stability for better performance between the recommend oil change intervals than what conventional oils offer. Pennzoil 10W-30 synthetic oil meets or exceeds American Petroleum Institute (API) SM for quality assurance to ensure uniform oil products at a given level or standard across the world and the marketplace in general. The recommended oil for an engine is identified in the vehicle’s owner or service manual under specified operating conditions.

Motor oil is made from crude oil and is used to lubricate, clean, and cool engines. Types of motor oil include synthetic, conventional, diesel, heavy-duty, racing, motorcycle, bio-based, and blends of conventional and synthetic. The types vary by additives or chemicals mixed into the base product and the refinement process itself, and these factors determine the cost, performance, and operating usage. In general, synthetic oils have higher overall performance than conventional oils for common automotive usage. Oils also differ by grade of viscosity (weight), which rates the oil performance characteristics under operating conditions. A numerical code system, established by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), grades motor oils according to viscosity characteristics. From low (thinner, easier to flow) to high (thicker, harder to flow) viscosity, the numbers range from 0 to 60 and can have a “W" suffix, which designates “winter" or cold-start viscosity at cold temperatures. Multigrade, or multiviscosity, oils have two numbers, with or without a “W" suffix after the first number, to indicate use in temperatures with significant differences. Monograde oils like SAE 30 are designed for constant high temperatures; the higher the number, the better performance at higher temperatures.
Pennzoil manufactures motor oil and car-care products. It is a brand of Royal Dutch Shell, founded in 1833, and headquartered in the Netherlands.

Motor oil is made from crude oil and is used to lubricate, clean, and cool engines. Types of motor oil include conventional, synthetic, diesel, bio-based, hybrid (blends of conventional and synthetic), and recycled oils. Motor oil varies in weight and viscosity, as well as additives that some manufacturers add to the oil during the refining process. A numerical code system created by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) grades motor oils according to viscosity--the higher the number between 0 and 60, the more viscous (thicker) the oil is. Most consumer motor oils are graded by two numbers, with the first number indicating cold weather (Winter or "W") performance.
SAE 10W-30
This oil has a weight of SAE 10W-30, meaning it has an SAE viscosity rating of 10 in cold temperatures and a rating of 30 at normal operating temperature. Always check your vehicle's owner's manual to verify that this is the correct weight of motor oil for your vehicle.
Conventional Motor Oil
This oil is a conventional motor oil, meaning it is refined from crude oil or petroleum products. Conventional motor oils may or may not have additives included after refining. Conventional motor oils are more versatile than synthetic or hybrid motor oils, because they are suitable for use with nearly all types of modern vehicle engines, from cars and trucks to motorcycles, ATVs, farm equipment, and more.
High Mileage Oil
This oil is primarily designed for use in high-mileage cars and trucks, including both older vehicles and new vehicles that see heavy long-distance use. Extra additives are included to minimize compression loss, and to condition rubber seals and gaskets to prevent fluid leakage in older or high-mileage vehicles.
