Guideline of the Product

Staying safe and knowing that your car is in top condition is most important.
Ideally, brake fluid should be checked regularly and changed every one to two years.
As moisture seeps into the brake system through the brake hoses and seals the brake fluid will become contaminated and the danger of brake failure will increase.
This pen-shaped brake fluid tester can easily help determine whether it's time for you to change your brake fluid.

OPERATING INSTRUCTION
1. Clean the test head ( including two metal probes ) and wipe it dry with cloth.
2. Press the button on the top of the tester to turn on the tester.

EM2272A has three test modes - DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 brake fluid test modes;
you must select a proper test mode to match the brake fluid to be tested.
Use the following procedure to select a desired test mode:
(1) With the tester in off state or in test state, press and hold down the button for about 5 secs; the green, yellow and red test indicator LEDs will light in turn.
(2) Release the button, the mode indicator will indicate which mode is the tester is in, as indicated as follows:
If the mode indicator flashes red, the tester is in DOT 3 brake fluid test mode.
If the mode indicator flashes green, the tester is in DOT 4 brake fluid test mode.
If the mode indicator flashes orange, the tester is in DOT 5.1 brake fluid test mode.
(3) When the mode indicator flashes, press the button until the tester is in desired test mode. (The mode indicator indicates the present test mode.) Wait about 5 secs. The tester saves this mode and the mode indicator stops flashing.

3. Dip entire length of metal probes into the brake fluid to be tested, make sure that the two metal probes are not near inner surface of the container of the brake fluid.
Wait about 3 secs, then determine the quality of the brake fluid according to the indication of the test indicator LEDs.
4. When the test is finished, quickly press the button twice to turn off the tester. The tester will turn off automatically if you have not pressed the button for about 20 secs.
5. Clean the test head (including the two metal probes ) and wipe it dry with cloth, then store the tester in a dry place.

What does LED mean?

The quality of the brake fluid according to the indication of the test indicator LEDs, as described as follows:

  • If the green test indicator LED lights up, the water content in the brake fluid is less than 1.5% and the brake fluid is all right.
  • If the yellow test indicator LED lights up, the water content in the brake fluid is between 1.5% and 3%; the brake fluid can still be used at present, but if you want to continue using the brake fluid, you must often check the brake fluid.
  • If the red test indicator LED lights up, the water content in the brake fluid is more than 3% and the brake fluid must be changed immediately.
