The intake manifold is responsible for the accurate dissemination of air into the engine cylinders for combustion. If it fails, your car’s vital functions deteriorate and you will experience a decrease in car’s performance. A cracked manifold must be replaced if it cannot be safely repaired.

Common Intake Manifold Problems

The most common problem with the intake manifold is a faulty gasket. Due to strain from heat and the resulting contraction and expansion, the gasket can get cracked. When you detect the intake manifold fails, first take out the gasket and check if there is a crack somewhere on it. And there are a few symptoms that can alert you.

Leaking Coolant

In some car, intake manifold gaskets also seal engine coolant. Naturally, it may lead to a coolant leak if this seal wears out. This will produce a distinct coolant smell, or get bad, you will notice steam, drips or puddles of coolant underneath the vehicle.

Returns Policy
